Made in Paradise, Shell Beans is no secret for Maldivians. With three restaurants across Malé and Hulhumalé, Shell Beans is essentially doing something very right.
THE INTERIOR
With its recently renovated beachy restaurant interior, Shell Beans boasts modern dining facilities, perfect for a casual catch up or special occasion. Enjoy dining indoors in the comfort of air-conditioning or sit outdoors and soak in the water views. Shell Beans also offers free WiFi for diners.
The Indulge Team can’t get enough of the gorgeous patterned tiles that feature on the staircase of the Shell Beans Jazeera Building store – have you seen them?! The blue lounge style table seating and wooden-look floating flooring are also a nice additions in the recent renovations.
THE MENU
We’re convinced that the Shell Bean’s menu is one of the best in all of Malé. They offer all day dining services and there really is something for everyone! Serving a combination of healthy snacks and meals, fresh juices, Maldivian classics and yummy desserts. Did you know that Shell Beans also delivers pizza? They even have a delivery menu available in both Malé and Hulhumalé.
The Indulge Maldives team was lucky enough to enjoy a lovely breakfast this week at the main store. The Benedict 63° is an absolute must, with soft centre poached eggs served on a fresh English muffin with bacon and hollandaise sauce – say no more!
The breakfast burger is a popular choice with the males, whilst the French Toast is a nice sweet treat for the ladies! Shell Beans scores extra points for its generous portion sizes and pretty plate arrangements.
When it comes to the selection of fresh juices, Shell Beans are in a league of their own. We can’t get enough of the Miracle Juice – Beetroot, Apple, Carrot & Ginger juice.
An Executive Breakfast menu has recently been added to the menu for group diners of 6 or more. Shell Beans is a great venue to hold a morning staff meeting whilst having an early coffee and bite to eat.
Some of our lunch time favourites of Shell Beans include the Chicken Quinoa Salad with a side of Fries. We love the funky silver paper lined bucket the fries are served in. If you enjoy something a little more on the spicy side, the Chicken Tandoori Wrap is generously filled full of chicken and will definitely hit the spot!
Did you know that Shell Beans has recently commenced a Weekly Lunch Express Service and offer Tea Time snacks from 3:30 – 5:30.
Another thing to try is the frozen yoghurt desserts of the Ameenee Magu store. Coming in two yummy flavours – cookies & cream and vanilla, these delicious treats are topped with crushed Oreos, macaroons pieces and colourful sprinkles, perfect for a Friday treat dho?!
Shell Beans also serve ‘Sea Tails’ – their signature mocktails which are all totally refreshing! They offer a Happy Hour daily from 5 – 7pm, with a buy one get one free promotion!
SERVICE
Our team loves the service we receive at Shell Beans. It doesn’t matter which store we attend or what time of day, the service is the same across the board. Waiters open the doors and welcome customers into their restaurant, deliver the menus and take orders punctually. We really love when the Shell Beans waiters are attentive and check how the meal is – it makes the service more personal. It’s also nice to enjoy a little small talk with the Shell Beans staff too.
