AN ALL INCLUSIVE MALDIVES SURF RETREAT…
Always dreamed of surfing in the Maldives? Now is your chance! Don’t miss out on the Indulge Maldives x Chix Surf School Maldives Surf Clinics, happening March 2020! This is an all inclusive surf trip, with all accommodation, meals, island transfers, surfing transfers, water sports, excursions, yoga sessions & surfing video analysis sessions taken care of (alcohol excluded). This Indulge Maldives Retreat is designed to progress your surfing & technique, enhance your confidence in the water & give you an insight into local Maldivian island life. We will be staying in a new & modern 4-star Maldives hotel, Reef Edge, situated on the local island of Thulusdhoo (not a resort island). At the end of each day of tropical surfing, retreat back to your Ocean Front Balcony Room and watch palm trees sway to colourful glowing sunsets. All meals will be provided in each hotel’s own private restaurant or special outdoor dining areas. Expect selections of Western, Maldivian & Asian cuisines. All dietary requirements will be catered for.

The Indulge Maldives x Chix Surf School 2020 Maldives Surf Clinics are for women who have a passion for surfing & the ocean, who wish to transform their surfing through a series of intensive surf coaching, video analysis and body movement classes, in the high quality waves that Maldives offers.

WHO WILL HOST THE RETREAT?

The Indulge Maldives x Chix Surf School 2019 Maldives surf retreat is hosted by Gee Cormack (Aus), Head Coach & Founder of the internationally renowned Chix Surf School. Gee will be inspiring attendees with her passionate ways of coaching women – utilising the ocean for empowerment, her unique surfing philosophies and teaching how to enhance mind & body connection in the water. Gee will be assisted by second coach Ash. Together they will be providing intensive in-water & on land coaching, through a series of video analysis sessions, body movement classes and yoga sessions and ocean wellbeing talks.

Ash specialises in beginner and intermediate surf training as well as advanced longboarding and mid-length board riding. Ash has over 8 years experience working in Manly & Noosa Heads surf schools. She has completed 200 hours of yoga teacher training and certificate III in fitness. Ash has an interest in body movement and all facets of health. She especially loves encouraging other women to gain more confidence and understanding in the ocean.

Professional Surf Photographer and Maldivian local surf guide Hupa Ibrahim (Hooper) aka Maldives Surf Photographer will be co-assisting on this Maldives surf retreat, offering his valuable local surf knowledge plus, will be capturing every surfing session via video, drone and water-housing. From the moment you arrive in Maldives you will be taken care of – all you need to do is simply enjoy your ocean front accommodation, the sunshine, the surf & make life-long friends… all whist you are hanging out here in paradise!

ACCOMMODATION
Indulge Maldives & CHIX Surf School will be partnering with Reef Edge Hotel at Thulusdhoo Island (local island) for the 2020 Maldives surf retreat. All rooms offer picturesque ocean views & come complete with private balconies. The hotel is perched overlooking the side of Cokes surf break. Trees do block the actual surf point although you can roll out of bed & have a great idea of daily surf conditions and uninterrupted ocean views! Cokes surf break is just 1 minute walk from the hotel and Chickens surf break is just a short lagoon ride across to the neighbouring island. Ninja’s, Sultans & Jails surf breaks are all close by, requiring a 20minute speedboat transfer (included in package).

x A US$500 non-refundable deposit secures your place on the retreat.
First in secures their spot. Each clinic is strictly limited to 12 ladies only.
x The final balance must be paid 30 days prior to arrival in Maldives, otherwise your spot will be made re-available and deposit will not be refunded. The trip can be paid off over time in small amounts at your discretion.
x Flights & Travel Insurance – All trip attendees are responsible for purchasing their own flights and travel insurance. Travel insurance is compulsory to attend the retreat.

♥ CAN I COME SOLO?
Definitely! Our tropical retreats are designed especially for solo women who wish to experience a new destination and connect with other like-minded women, making new life-long friendships!
♥ IS THERE AN AGE LIMIT FOR INDULGE MALDIVES RETREATS?
Yes, 18+. All retreat attendees must be over the age of 18 for legal reasons.
♥ DO I NEED TO ARRANGE A VISA?
No. Maldives supplies a Free Visas On Arrival to all nationalities, subject to tourists being able to produce a confirmed reservation for each night of their intended stay, as well as a departing flight. You may be required to produce these to immigration upon entry into Maldives – Indulge Maldives will supply you with the correct documents.
♥ WILL I NEED ANY EXTRA SPENDING MONEY?
Our aim is to make this Maldives surf retreat as inclusive as possible. You may need extra spending money for things such as additional excursions, snacks or souvenirs.
♥ WHERE CAN I PURCHASE ALCOHOL?
As Maldives is a 100% Sunni Islamic country, meaning alcohol is prohibited except on resort islands. We have planned a resort day trip with an all inclusive drinks pass for you. There is currently a floating bar boat off Thulusdhoo Island. We cannot guarantee if it will be there in March, but if it is, you can take a USD$10 transfer & purchase alcoholic beverages on board for USD$6-15 per drink.
♥ WHAT IS THE MAIN CURRENCY USED IN MALDIVES?
The main currencies used in Maldives are US Dollars & Maldivian Rufiya. On local islands, Maldivian Rufiya or USD is required to purchase items like souvenirs, snacks and extra activities & watersports. You can simply withdraw local currency from an ATM upon your arrival at the airport, at the ATM at Thulusdhoo Island, or you can exchange your cash at the airport.
♥ WILL SOMEONE GREET ME AT THE AIRPORT?
Yes! From the moment you first arrive in Maldives you will experience our airport greeting service and will take a group private charter speedboat to our accommodation. Upon departure, we will return with you to the airport to ensure a smooth departure process.
♥ IS THERE A RESTRICTION ON SURFBOARD SIZES?
No, however it is important to double check with your airline carrier. We encourage you to pack your surf boards very securely with lots of extra padding to prevent them being damaged upon your arrival in Maldives.
♥ HOW MUCH FREE TIME IS THERE?
Most days there will be scheduled free time. This is an opportunity for you to engage in extra surfing, explore the island on your own terms, laze on the Bikini Beach, read a book or take an additional excursion.
♥ AS MALDIVES IS A MUSLIM COUNTRY, DO I NEED TO DRESS MODESTLY?
As we will be staying on a local island, it is important to dress in accordance with Ministry of Tourism laws. This means a little modestly when moving through the village section of an island. We recommend packing 1-2 long skirts or dresses & 1-2 t-shirts, along with your normal casual day wear.
♥ CAN I DRINK THE WATER IN MALDIVES?
No, not unless you like drinking salt water! The hotel will provide drinking water. It’s also easy to purchase extra water bottles from local shops, for around 30c for 1L. If you have a refillable drink bottle, this would be especially ideal to bring to help reduce our plastic impact during the retreat!
♥ IS THERE A MINIMUM NUMBER OF GUESTS REQUIRED?
Yes – we must have a minimum of 10 guests for the clinic to go ahead at the advertised price. As per our Terms & Conditions, if running the retreat is not deemed financially viable, Indulge Maldives reserve the right to cancel the retreat. Upon this type of cancellation, you will be refunded all monies previously paid to Indulge Maldives Holidays. However we will not reimburse any flights or travel costs already booked.
